Derbyshire Autism Services -DAS has an exciting new Wellbeing Navigator Service with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and are looking for the right people to take this forward.
The vision of the Specialist Wellbeing Navigator Service (SWNS) is to help autistic adults seeking an Autism diagnosis to better understand what autism means for them and to offer short-term, proactive, personalised support for navigating the services and systems available locally. Referrals to the SWNS will be from the diagnostic team.
We are looking for individuals who are motivated to support others, able to manage a case load of clients, assess and understand a person’s needs and able to produce with them a plan of action towards meeting these needs. This includes making referrals to a wide range of other relevant support services. A knowledge and understanding of autism are essential for this role, although training and close support will be provided.
The role will involve both daytime and evening hours and both remote and in-person working. It is for an initial 12-month period to test the effectiveness of this approach. Having a driver’s license is a requirement. Closing date for applications 10
