Amber Valley CVS – recruiting to the Community Development Team Befriending Project Worker This post requires you to co-ordinate our Befriending project. You will effectively market for volunteer befrienders who will give either telephone or direct support to isolated individuals referred to us. You will then lead on training, selection and placement of volunteers and be responsible for ongoing support. You will need to be well organised, have good administrative skills and be able to maintain records and statistics to monitor the project. You will also need to have empathy and good communication skills with people of all backgrounds, either those referred for support or those offering time as volunteers. Experience of supporting and developing volunteers is necessary with evidence of recent experience in delivering training. Ability to liaise and work with other agencies to meet needs of referrals and training is essential. Salary per annum £15652.00 + pension Hours of work 25 hours per wk, occasional evening work may be required Holidays 6wks,pro rata + bank holidays. You will effectively market for volunteer who will visit groups or homes to provide information to members of the community and motivation for them to engage in activity for their well being . You will lead on training and deployment of volunteers and be responsible for ongoing monitoring and support . You will need to be well organised, have good administrative skills and be able to maintain records and statistics to monitor the project. You will also need to have empathy and good communication skills with people of all backgrounds, either those referred for support or those offering time as volunteers. Experience of supporting and developing volunteers is necessary with evidence of recent experience in delivering training. Ability to liaise and work with other agencies to meet needs of referrals and training is essential. Salary per annum £9391.20 + pension Hours of work 15 hours per wk, occasional evening work may be required Holidays 6wks,pro rata + bank holidays. Amber Valley CVS – Bespoke Befriending Support Worker In order to address issues of loneliness and isolation and to compliment our existing volunteer led Befriending we are piloting a Bespoke service for those we cannot currently provide support to which addresses their specified needs. This post needs individuals who can motivate and accompany clients inside or outside the home with a variety of activities that will improve WellBeing. This service includes a charge to clients. All activity will be aimed at reducing social isolation and improving access to the wider community You will ;
  • have experience of working in the community with evidence of recent customer support.
  • have empathy and good communication skills with people of all backgrounds
  • be creative and able to work on your own initiative
  • have knowledge and skills relating to work with older people including those with disabilities
  • have good administrative skills and be able to maintain records required for the project.
  • have the ability to work in a team and liaise with other agencies to market the service and offer appropriate support alongside other packages.
Salary ;£8.21 per hour Hours of work :nil hours, some evening work or weekend work may be required Holidays: 6wks,pro rata + bank holidays.
